We all have family stories — stories about grandpas and grandmas or about uncles and aunts. Some of them are funny. Some of them are sad. But they help us know more about ourselves—where we came and who we are. In this series we’ll take a look at some of our Faith Family stories. We’ll learn about us but, more importantly, we’ll learn about God.

We have seen Jacob struggle throughout his life. Last week we talked about a breakthrough when Jacob surrendered to God. This week we’ll jump to the end of Jacob’s life and look at how much he has been shaped by God’s grace over the years.

Jacob has been fighting his whole life. He fought Esau, then Isaac, then Laban. Now he must fight the battle behind all the other battles — the battle with God. As we watch this battle, we’ll ask ourselves whether we’re fighting against God as well.
