GROUPS

From time to time we all need help. Sometimes we need a helping hand, a shoulder to lean on, or a listening ear. At Hillside Community Church, we want to help people experience the healing grace of God as individuals, couples, and as families.

The Church is the Hands and Feet of Christ

Life is filled with challenges, and God never intended us to face these challenges alone. We want to share with you some of the group opportunities to connect with the community at Hillside.

Adults

For Christians, learning, growing and serving aren’t things that end when we become an adult. We believe that we are called to continually be growing to become more like Jesus. So, whatever stage you are in life from young adult, a new parent, or in the prime of your life, we invite you to join us as we actively seek to grow together in our faith.

Women's Ministry Groups

At Hillside our Women’s Ministries exist to provide a safe and fun environment for all women to come together to encourage and challenge one another through fun activities, studies, service opportunities, guest speakers and much more!

Support Groups

GRIEF SHARE
Whenever tragedy strikes in a person’s life it can turn everything upside down.  Whether it be the loss of a loved one, an illness, or just a combination of a million small things, the confusion and pain we feel is difficult to deal with.  God did not create us to deal with these kinds of situations alone.  The love and support of other people who are able to grieve alongside of each other brings hope and restoration to everyone involved. Grief share is a support group for anyone going through the grieving process. Everyone grieves differently and it is helpful to know you are not alone. Contact Linda Demaagd for more information.

SINGLE & PARENTING CARE GROUP
As a single parent, you  know there aren’t many people who truly understand the unique challenges you face. You deeply desire to do what’s best for your kids, and you worry that you aren’t. Sometimes, it’s all you can do to survive from one day to the next. Single & Parenting is a special group that will bring hope to your life. Single & Parenting features refreshing, biblical teachings on topics important to single parents. Please join us every other Tuesday evening from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m beginning Sept. 20th. Dinner and childcare are provided. Contact Linda Demaagd for more information.

Pre-Marital Mentoring

Engagement is an exciting time filled with many hopes and dreams for the future.  Through the whirlwind of dating and engagement often there are important things that are simply forgotten about or never discussed.  These issues can pop up after the wedding and can make the first few years very difficult.  It is important for every marriage to start on a solid foundation. Pre-Marriage mentoring provides a place to discuss expectations, hopes and issues that are typical in every marriage. Pre-Marriage mentoring is done over six sessions, approximately two weeks apart by an experienced couple.  The sessions consist of one-on-one time using the FOCCUS  (Facilitating Open Couple Communication, Understanding & Study) materials.  This study will walk through discussions on: communication, sex, spirituality, in-laws, money, and more. If you are interested in participating in our Pre-Marriage Mentoring program or would like to volunteer to be a marriage mentor contact Arek O’Connell

Marriage Mentoring

Marriage is work.  When many of us get married we assume that because we love this person our life journey will be an easy one.  We realize that no matter how compatible two people are or how much they love each other trials and difficulties stress relationships.  Couples need to persistently and patiently work to keep their marriage vows on a daily basis. REFOCUS is a mentoring ministry that involves an experience married couple coming alongside anther couple to help them deal with and work though some of the challenges that can arise in marriage.  Many different topics are covered and it is a place where the difficulties all of us face in marriage can be worked through.  For more information contact Arek O’Connell.
