Powerful Prayers of the Old Testament
Hope in the Hard Times
November 22
What is God doing when the foundations of your world are shaken? What is God doing when the hospitals are overflowing with covid patients? Or when a loved one is hurt or suddenly dies? Prophet Habakkuk lives in turbulent times, just like us. Today the Lord responds to us in the same way he responded to the prophet. Let’s explore the response of God’s Spirit in such a time as this.

Solomon: The Prayer of the Overwhelmed
November 15
As we approach the Christmas season, some of us are asking children and grandchildren, “What do you want for Christmas?” We want to know what they really want us to give them. Imagine if God did that with us. Imagine if God said, “Ask me for what you want and I’ll give it to you.” What would you say? What do you want from God? This morning we’ll look at how Solomon answers that question.

Pouring Out Our Hearts
November 8
Prayer is an amazing gift from God. He invites us to share with Him our highest highs and our lowest lows. We’re beginning a series this morning in which we’ll look at four prayers from the Old Testament, looking at what they teach us about God and about prayer. We start with the prayer of Hannah–the prayer of someone who is broken and hurting.
